IPL-VR is used to treat spider veins, as well as a variety of other skin problems. IPL-VR treats spider veins by heating and damaging the walls of the blood vessel. This causes them to collapse and disappear over time. IPL is most effective on small veins close to the surface of the skin.

When IPL-VR is used to treat spider veins, also known as telangiectasias, the light generates heat in the veins. As with other spider vein treatments, this causes the walls of the vein to collapse and form scar tissue. Eventually, (after 3-4 treatments), these veins will be reabsorbed by the body and fade away after several weeks.

IPL-AC is used to treat acne IPL-AC is a gentle pulsed light procedure that can be performed on the face, chest, arms, legs… just about anywhere. IPL-AC is non-invasive and fast. Nothing penetrates the skin, and a large area is treated with each pulse. Pulsed light targets P. Acne Bacteria causing it to release singlet oxygen and destroy itself without harming normal skin. The treatment is performed twice a week for 4 weeks. Each treatment reduces the number and inflamed, active acne pores in the area until you reach your desired end result.

IPL-AC can be performed on most skin types. However, If you have very dark or tanned skin, another treatment may be better.

Because the light pulse is low energy, a topical anesthetic is unnecessary. When the light flashes, it feels like a warm pulse against the skin. Most patients will feel no discomfort during the procedure. The treated area will feel warm and may appear slightly pink for a few hours. Many patients have the treatment performed at lunchtime and can return to work or school the same day. The P. Acne Bacteria will be diminished with each treatment and a gradual reduction in redness and swelling will occur over the four-week treatment period.

IPL-AC usually takes about 10 minutes depending on the size of the treatment area, and normally starts with 2 treatments per week for 4 weeks. Maintenance treatments may be necessary depending on the severity and type of acne. Depending on the severity and type of acne, additional treatments may also be indicated. A daily skin care regimen is required for ultimate success and oral medication will be prescribed by our Nurse Practitioner if needed. We will discuss all options and we will recommend the appropriate protocol during your consultation.

IPL-HR is FDA approved for permanent hair reduction. A procedure in which light energy at specific wavelengths targets melanin in the hair shaft and travels to the follicle. IPL-HR only works on dark hair. Unpigmented hair (white, blonde, red, or gray) will not be affected by IPL-HR.

The heat damages the follicle and impairs its ability to reproduce hair. Some hair will never re-grow, some will re-grow at a much slower rate and some will re-grow finer and thinner resulting in permanent hair reduction. Perfect for large areas like your back, legs, bikini, underarms, etc. With each treatment, you can expect a 20%-30% reduction in hair. After four treatments spaced at one-month intervals, you should have approximately two-thirds less hair than when you started your treatments. Additional treatments may be needed to reach your desired results and is based on the area being treated, the coarseness of the hair, and its density.
