Micro-Needling is a treatment that constitutes a form of Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT). It is a nonsurgical, non-ablative skin treatment. This means that the deeper parts of the skin are treated without removing the top layer. Micro-Needling is designed to treat various skin conditions such as fine lines and wrinkles, scarring from acne, burns, surgery, and to improve skin color and texture.
Micro-Needling breaks down old scar tissue and stimulates skin cell growth. This cell multiplication results in the formation of new tissue, layers of elastin and collagen fibers as well as new capillaries for an improved blood supply. This improves skin texture and reduces wrinkles creating smoother skin.
Conditions that can be treated:
– Mild to Moderate Acne Scars
– Any New or Old Scars
– Loose, Lax skin
– Skin Texture, Fine Lines, Pores
– Stretch Marks
What Does the Procedure Involve:
We use an electric micro-needling device made especially for this procedure. The skin is cleaned and numbing cream is applied to ensure comfort. For enhance results, we use an exclusive collagen-stimulating, growth factor complex during and after the procedure. Treatments take 15-60 minutes depending on the size of the area being treated. After the treatment, the skin is cleaned, the appropriate products are applied to hydrate, heal and protect the skin. There are no negative side effects and no down time.
– For Collagen Induction we recommend 3 treatments repeated every 4-6 weeks
– For scar reduction we recommend an average of 3 to 6 treatments repeated every 4-6 weeks
However, the number of treatments required will depend on how each individual responds to treatments, and the amount of correction needed. Most people will see improvements 4-6 weeks after the first treatment.
